The role of accounting in the move from public service to private industry.


No próximo dia 12 de maio, realizar-se-á, pelas 11h30, um seminário subordinado ao tema "Domestic Waste Policy in Ireland - The role of accounting in the move from public service to private industry.", que conta com o orador convidado Martin Quinn (Dublin City University Business School).

O webinar decorre no âmbito das actividades da U.C. Fundamentos de Economia e Contabilidade da Licenciatura em Comunicação Empresarial; da U.C. de Contabilidade Financeira da Licenciatura em Contabilidade e Administração; e U.C. de Contabilidade Internacional do Mestrado em Contabilidade e Finanças; e é dirigido a estudantes, docentes e investigadores da área da contabilidade. Guest Speaker:
Martin Quinn is Senior Lecturer at Queen's Management School (Queen's University Belfast). He is a qualified management accountant and has held several finance and management positions in Irish and international organisations. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Dundee (Scotland, UK) and has published widely on management accounting, accounting change and accounting history in journals such as Management Accounting Research, Accounting Auditing and Accountability Journal, Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management, Accounting History Review and Accounting History. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management. His research interests also include accounting information systems, accounting and sustainability and cloud computing.
Martin has also written and contributed several textbooks, including Management Accounting (McGraw Hill) and was Editor of the Routledge Companion to Accounting Information Systems.
In addition to his teaching at DCU Business School and at Queen's Management School, Martin also has held visiting positions at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and currently holds a teaching position at HHL (Germany). He also teaches for professional accounting bodies in Ireland.
